Dr. Tannuja Rozario (she/her) is the Associate Director of Research at Everytown for Gun Safety. She received her PhD in Sociology from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. Prior to Everytown, she conducted research for the Center for Progressive Security, New York Alliance Against Sexual Assault, and the National Science Foundation on reproductive health, gender-based violence, qualitative methods, and medical sociology. Her work has been published in International Sociology, Social Science and Medicine, and Ethnic and Racial Studies.
Tannuja is an Adjunct Professor in the Gender Studies and Political Science department at John Jay College of Criminal Justice. As a public sociologist, Tannuja also works alongside many grassroots organizations. She is a Founding Board Member of South Queens Women’s March, which is a gender justice organization that supports survivors of gender-based violence, and currently serves on the Board of Directors for the New York Birth Control Access Project.
