Caribbean Equality Project’s 2024 Pride Activations
2024 marks the Caribbean Equality Project's 9th anniversary of advocating for Caribbean LGBTQ+ Voices in New York. But we need your help to continue holding space to amplify Caribbean LGBTQ+ visibility and representation at various Pride Parades, including organizing intimate community gatherings, educational programs, and socials—all centering on the diversity of our community.
Pride is still a protest, and we will march and dance to continue centering joy and affirming Caribbean LGBTQ+ identities under the theme of "Live Pridefully: We Will Not Be Erased." In a country (even in NY) that continues to threaten our rights and lives, this theme aligns our advocacy to fight back while presenting a contingent inclusive of our Afro- and Indo-Caribbean cultural backgrounds and ancestry as we advocate for a more transformative society—one based on love, justice, and liberation.
Your support and love will help us participate in the Queens Pride Parade, host our annual Pride Fete, continue our four-year-running monthly Food Justice program, coordinate a panel discussion focused on LGBTQ+ asylum seekers, and mash-up de road at the 2024 NYC Pride March by producing another fabulous "Big Truck," a 26th-year tradition co-founded by the late beloved Trinidian-born activist Colin Robinson.
Similar to the community we pridefully serve, the Caribbean Equality Project is still recovering from the pandemic, which has impacted our fundraising activities. Please show us your Caribbean Pride by giving a meaningful gift to support our numerous 2024 Pride Activations. Please donate and share our 2024 Pride Big Truck Fundraiser.
