In commemoration of Trans Day of Visibility 2025, join the Caribbean Equality Project (CEP) and our community partners for our 2nd annual “Love On Us: Rooted in Strength, Blooming in Joy,” a trans health, Wellness, and healing Resource Fair. This transformative event is designed to uplift and center the diverse voices, power, and resilience of trans and non-binary Black, Latinx, Afro- and Indo-Caribbean, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) communities.
This annual celebration, hosted by the Caribbean Equality Project’s Trans Justice Unit (TJU), will focus on the health, wellness, and healing of our Caribbean and immigrant trans communities, particularly Afro and Indo-Caribbean populations. As Trans Day of Visibility serves as a crucial moment to combat the erasure and violence faced by transgender and gender non-conforming individuals, this event pushes forward the vision of a world where the experiences and futures of trans people are centered and celebrated.
Despite the systemic oppression and invisibility that trans and non-binary people often face, this event seeks to reclaim space, amplify voices, and foster solidarity. "Love On Us" will showcase the vibrancy, strength, and resistance of Caribbean trans people and their allies through a powerful blend of community-driven initiatives, including:
Keynote Healers sharing wisdom and practices for wellness and resilience.
Knowledge-sharing discussions to address issues such as trans-affirming healthcare, racial justice, economic justice, and mental health.
Clothing Drive to support those in need of trans-affirming clothing.
Performing Arts as a healing practice of liberation that features live performances and cultural expression.
Caribbean-Inspired Food to nourish both body and soul, celebrating the richness of Caribbean culture.
Program Schedule:
5 - 6 pm: Resource Fair featuring 10+ immigration, health, and clothing vendors
6 - 8 pm: Program, including dinner and featuring guest speakers, panel, and performances
The event will emphasize the intersectionality of our communities, creating a space to heal, celebrate trans power, and recognize the challenges and triumphs that bind us together in the fight for justice and equity. Through storytelling, music, food, and conversation, we’ll reflect on the immense power of trans and non-binary communities, while also calling attention to the need for continued community-building and collective action.
Tiffany J. Munroe, CEP’s Trans Justice Coordinator, is organizing this FREE community trans-focused event, ensuring that it remains rooted in the community's needs and desires for liberation, healing, and visibility.
