Little Guyana Votes Festival - Diwali Edition
On Saturday, October 26th, the Caribbean Equality Project will host the 4th annual "Little Guyana Votes Festival," a Diwali-inspired culturally responsive neighborhood Get Out the Vote (GOTV) action to educate voters about the 2024 General election.
The civically engaged outreach community event features tabling to distribute voter, LGBTQ+, domestic violence, housing, and workers' rights resources. To encourage voter participation in Richmond Hill, Queens, FREE Diwali treats and Diya giveaways will be distributed.

Caribbean Equality Project is one of many local organizations and faith-based institutions that did legislative advocacy to make Diwali a holiday in NYC. This multi-decade fight and victory demonstrate our collective power through community advocacy. To celebrate, organizational leaders will share words of commemoration and highlight the importance of building political power through civic engagement.
