Caribbean Equality Project is one of many local organizations and faith-based institutions that did legislative advocacy to make Diwali a holiday in NYC. This multi-decade fight and victory demonstrate our collective power through community advocacy. To celebrate, organizational leaders will share words of commemoration and highlight the importance of building political power through civic engagement.
