Lana Patel (she/her/hers) is an Afro and Indo-Caribbean trans woman from Queens, New York, currently residing in Los Angeles, California. She is establishing herself as a valuable member of the San Francisco community, where she serves as the Community Outreach and Project Manager for the Center of Immigrant Protection. Lana holds two bachelor's degrees in psychology and fine arts.
Beyond her professional endeavors, Lana is a passionate Trans activist dedicated to advocating for healthcare equity within the Trans community. As a model, singer, dancer, actress, and makeup artist, she effortlessly combines her artistic abilities to express herself and inspire others. Her creative pursuits are a powerful medium through which she challenges societal norms and celebrates individuality.
As the first and only openly out trans woman in her family, the Caribbean Equality Project resonates with Lana's intersectionality of being both a Caribbean person and being trans.
