Dillon Mohamed (he/him) embarked on his journey as an LGBTQ+ rights activist in Guyana in 2018, a few months after bravely coming out to his parents at 25. His dedication to Human Rights led him to serve as the Lay Pastor of the Hope of Christ UACC, Guyana's first LGBTQ-affirming church, from 2019 to 2020. Dillon's role extended beyond the church, as he became a key consultant, organizer, presenter, and community networking social activator at numerous SASOD Guyana's events.
Over the past 13 years, Dillon has demonstrated versatility in various professional roles in Guyana. He has served as a music and language teacher, flight operations officer, aeronautical information services officer, and air traffic control officer. His professional journey is complemented by his passion for music, as he has produced songs under the alias "Raphael Eurus." Dillon's linguistic skills are equally impressive, with fluency in English, Spanish, and French, and competence in several other languages from every continent.
Dillon graduated from The Queen's College, Guyana, earning 15 passes at the CSEC Examinations. He also holds a Diploma in Theatre Arts and Drama from NSTAD Guyana and certificates in Music and Communication.
Dillon is Guyana's first openly gay youth politician. He is passionate about social justice and political reform. He is also an animal protector and once had 17 cats. Dillon's multiracial background informs his advocacy for diversity and inclusion and complements his activism for LGBTQ+ rights. His ethnic heritage is predominantly from India, Ghana, and Nigeria, with influences from China, Guyana’s Indigenous Peoples, the Levant, England, and Ireland.
