JOIN OUR BOARD OF DIRECTORS!
The Caribbean Equality Project (CEP) is expanding its Board of Directors to 12 leaders, who will serve at the highest level of collective decision-making for CEP and the diverse community we serve in NYC and beyond. The organization seeks passionate and imaginative community leaders, activists, and professionals to join our 2024-2025 Board of Directors.
Caribbean Equality Project has a two-year term model for its Board of Directors. All Board members can run for re-election at the end of their term, if they recommit their time and energy to advance the organization’s work to protect Caribbean LGBTQ+ people.
Board members are fiduciaries of Caribbean Equality Project, who steer the organization towards a sustainable future by adopting sound, ethical, and legal governance and financial management policies and ensuring the nonprofit has adequate resources to advance its mission.
Function of our Board of Directors:
Collaborates with the Executive Director in creating and continuing the organization's programs, services, and community relation development;
Actively fundraise for the organization's long-term sustainability and infrastructural developments.
Board members are legally responsible for ensuring that CEP complies with the applicable federal, state, and local laws (in adherence to CEP's mission and bylaws);
Actively attending and participating in all quarterly Board meetings and assigned committees meetings;
Board members are responsible for participating actively in the decision-making processes, on CEP's behalf and are expected to use their judgment during this process.
