2021 New York City local candidate forums
The Caribbean Equality Project fosters civic participation and promotes voter education to build political power for Caribbean LGBTQ+ immigrants at the neighborhood, city, state, and national levels. We register eligible voters, coordinate political candidate forums, and work with allied community partners to amplify Black and Brown Queer and Trans Caribbean voices.
We are proud to join the Asian Pacific American Voting and Organizing to Increase Civic Engagement (APA VOICE) to organize a series of 2021 New York City local non-partisan candidate forums so our community members can hear directly from candidates. The upcoming June primary is a critical election for New Yorkers. At least nine of the open city council races have an Asian-American voting electorate population over 25%. A calendar of events and registration links are included here.
