L Dindial (they/them), born and raised in Jamaica, Queens, is a first-generation Queeribbean who found early solace and direction in the written word. They hold a B.A. in Psychology with minors in Leadership Studies and Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies, with research focused on the experiences of QTBIPOC students at predominantly white institutions. This academic background solidified their commitment to intersectional organizing and storytelling on the grounds with the working class.
For over a decade, L has led peer-to-peer initiatives centering on themes such as coming out in Caribbean households, domestic violence in queer relationships, and the concept of curating healthy, chosen families. They are a facilitator of otherworldly and revolutionary healing through storytelling, blending creativity and risk-taking to drive transformative universal healing. L’s primary practices are deeply rooted in embodying the rituals of writing through collective storytelling, fostering intentional grounding and empathic connections with other deep thinkers and feelers. They are dedicated to streamlining collective consciousness through storytelling for the revolution, advocating for a slower, more grounded resonance to authentic narrative creation both out loud and on paper with others.
As a healing justice organizer within QTBIPOC communities in NYC, L honors ancestral legacies to fuel movement work and shape holistic care practices. The Caribbean Equality Project represents a homecoming for L where their Queer, Non-Binary Trans, NYC-native, and Caribbean identities converge, infusing their efforts with renewed purpose and close connection to the culture that raised them. Guided by principles of love and compassion, L actively shapes the future of community support circles, realizing the vision they once dreamed and scripted.
